Lahore, August 1, 2024 – The city of Lahore has been experiencing persistent heavy rainfall over the past few days, leading to widespread disruptions in daily life. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecasted that the rain is expected to continue for the next few days, exacerbating the difficulties faced by residents.


The ongoing downpour has resulted in waterlogged streets and severe traffic jams, making it particularly challenging for students and office workers to commute. Many educational institutions have reported lower attendance as parents opt to keep their children at home to avoid the hazardous travel conditions. Similarly, office workers are struggling with long delays and the inconvenience of navigating through flooded roads.


Public transportation services are also severely impacted, with buses and rickshaws finding it difficult to operate on submerged routes. The city administration has urged citizens to limit unnecessary travel and has deployed additional resources to manage traffic and clear water from key thoroughfares.
